What we do

The State Aid Unit, part of the Business, Enterprise and Energy
Directorate of the Scottish Government, aims to assist those
involved in approving or granting public funding within State
aid rules. We are here to:

  • answer questions regarding State aid

  • advise on the most appropriate scheme for the aid to be granted

  • work with you to develop new schemes for notification to the
    European Commission

  • liaise with BIS State Aid Branch and the UK Permanent
Representation (UKRep) at the European Commission on
    State aid issues in Scotland
